FORMER DWU LECTURER CRISH PAPIALI ATTACKED

The Former DWU lecturer who escaped serious harm at the Barola road block yesterday has told EMTV that he lost more than a 100 thousand kina worth of property and cash.
His personal vehicle was destroyed and more than three thousand kina in cash was taken from him.

Chris Papiali, was travelling from Erave in the Southern Highlands to Madang  when he  was stopped at the Barola blockade.

He has since called  on the Eastern Highlands Provincial Government and Governor, Julie Soso, to help him recover what he lost. 

Meanhile, the crisis has forced the closure of the Aiyura National High School in Kainantu after all Western Highlands teachers left over the weekend.

Police Minister Robert Atiyafa and Kainantu MP, Johnson Tuke, have since called for calm and understanding from all parties concerned.

Kainantu town itself remains tense as various groups continue to express anger over the killing of teacher, Albert Gibson.
