PNG Government to implement birth-control implants

The Government will introduce 40,000 birth-control implants for women and mothers in the country.
It will partner with international health and medical organizations to bring in the implants, to help control birth rates in the country.
Minister for National Planing and Monitoring Charles Abel says the government's 10-year National Health plan talks about stabilizing the birth rate but lacks priority and action.
Minister Abel says they are also working with the Health Department, and other agencies to boost distribution of the implants next year.
