PNG STOPS VISA ON ARRIVAL FOR AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS

Australian passport holders will not be given visas on arrival at any port of entry in Papua New Guinea, starting first of March.

These include Visitor, Business, Short term Single Entry and Restricted Employment facility visas.

The National Government decided to ban the Visa On Arrival Facility for Australian passport holders, after that country disagreed to a shared arrangement.

In a statement, the Immigration and Citizenship Authority said, Cabinet made its decision last December.

It states, this was not carried out immediately, to give the Australian government time to change its decision and for its citizens with confirmed travel arrangements to P-N-G, to go ahead with them.

All airline companies have been told of the Government's decision.

Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop in her recent visit to P-N-G, had announced an Online Visa Application offer for P-N-G passport holders travelling to her country.
