PNG Families Support Kindergatens Schools in Solomon Islands

“The PNG community here in GPPOL, is happy to assist the two kindergartens because it is our desire to contribute to the development of this nation and we are happy to contribute also to the learning development of children in the Solomon Islands,” said Ladri Kuli, PNG community representative while presenting the items.
“We feel part of the community here and we want to give back something to the community in whatever way we can such as this donation”, he added.
The donation included toys, reading books, and stationary items such as A4 rim, scissors, color pencils, crayons, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, tennis balls, balloons and other items.
Upon receiving the items, both Kindergartens’ Teacher in Charge thanked GPPOL’s PNG community for the donation and said that these items will really help the children.
“We really appreciate your assistance as we see this donation as a big thing for the kindergarten school and cannot thank you enough,” said Ms. Florence of Nguvia Kindergarten School.
The Nguvia Kindy students, teachers and few mothers were also present to witness the handing over of the items.
“This brief handing over today of the items strengthens the friendship between us and we really thank you for your assistance,” said Ms. Emily Aihari of Ngalimbiu Kindergarten School.
A small bring and buy fundraising was organized by the PNG community at GPPOL last month where the money raised was used to purchase the items.
“Although we are a small PNG community here, we are happy to assist in small ways,” said Mesach Boge, Chairman of GPPOL’s PNG community.
The group has plans for another such assistance to the community in the future and is planning a fundraising next month.
They would also like to thank everyone who have contributed in one way or the other towards the fundraising last month.
